Café Saeraul
새라울
Misty courtyard in the new village
Saeraul is about a 30-minute walk from Hongik Station, and upon arrival, you step into what appears to be a large house remodeled into a café. ‘Saeraul’ means ‘new village’ in Korean, and the space is designed to offer café-goers a unique, fresh experience.
The dreamy courtyard features tasteful greenery, a floating concrete bridge, and a still pond emitting mist from the rocks.
You’ll enjoy looking down from the balconies into a second courtyard whose colors remind you of fall.
The interior is cozy but this is where aesthetically, things get a bit confusing. There’s seems to be commonalities with the greenery used and shell curtains falling form the ceiling, but they don’t all come together in harmony.
What goes for this cafe is that the heat is put on blast and they give you extra treats with your order of tea.
