The beginning of comfort and relaxation

Mokki is located in Mullae, right next to Sindorim. These are very busy parts of Seoul, filled with loud traffic and bustling street life. (I lived here for about a month when I first moved to Seoul.)

The coffee/tea house next to a loud highway is a moment of silence—order found in an otherwise chaotic environment. Fittingly, the establishment was built from a former factory, repurposed from something rugged into something tranquil.

I decided to have the Menta Finale tea blend, a rooibos tea with a smooth and creamy taste, enhanced by green apple and refreshing mint aromas. It’s meant to be enjoyed iced for a cool pick-me-up in the afternoon or warm in the evening for a relaxing finish to your day.

I decided to do the opposite; a warm cup to pick-me-up in the afternoon.

The barista gathered the tea leaves from a separate station (the table with the small lamp) and then prepared the tea set at the main café bar. He mentioned that I could get water refills if needed.

While visually serene, the chatter of incoming customers, the ongoing street noise, and the rather distracting piano playlist prevented a lasting sense of calm.

As I finished the last of my tea, I sat at the edge of the room facing the central lamp. The metal seat was cool to the touch. Thankfully, they provided a fuzzy cushion for warmth.
